I had so much hope for this, but still haven’t been able to make a round ice ball. It didn’t come with instructions so I did my best to fill it through the tiny holes on the top and of course there was water everywhere. The water spill out at the seams between the two pieces so I have a frozen mess in between and no ice balls. There is also a strong odor that no matter how many times I washed the tray it won’t go away. It is a great concept but it need to go back to the drawing board.

After a conversation with customer service, in which they explain the reason for not including instructions was to save on paper (Which I am all for it) They could printed on the box. Customer service direct me to Amazon to read the instruction, which I have provided below.

Here’s a quick step by step:
-Place the mold in sink and fill mold with distilled water to the top rim. Tap water will work but could bubble and create a cloudy ice ball.
-Press down on the top mold and release any excess water between the top and bottom molds.
-Place mold on a flat surface in the freezer.
-Once frozen, remove the top mold and place on the counter upside down.
-Flip the bottom mold over the top mold and separate the edges until the ice releases into the top mold slots. Note: The mold should separate from the ice very easily.

After following the instructions, I can make a partial sphere and no matter what I do there is still a thin layer of ice in between the two pieces. Also the water waste to fill the mold is a big no-no, I guess I am going to keep looking.

The Ice Tray was provided by i2 Gear in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated. This review is Desafio In The City honest opinion about this product.
