Review ~ Franklin's Gourmet Pre-Measured Popcorn Packets

Franklin’s Gourmet Pre-Measured Popcorn Packets is delicious, but not as “clean” as I thought it was going to be. The kernel are made from non GMO organic corn grown in family-owned farm in the USA. The oil included in the package all thought it is claim to be 100% Coconut Oil it is ruin by other not so wholesome ingredients like Yellow #5 and #6.

~ 100% pure COCONUT OIL. Gluten Free, Vegan, & Kosher.
~ Certified ORGANIC non-GMO popcorn. Grown in Iowa and packaged in the USA.
~ Fresh & Delicious. Tastes just like at the movie theaters.
~ EASY to pour pre-measured pack. Tri-pouch allows you to regulate the salt content.
~ Use in kettle popper or stove top pot.

I was so looking forward to this product. I am little by little trying to leave a more organic and sustainable lifestyle and I been changing stuff gradually. We love popcorn, it is our favorite snack; finding one that claims to be organic, pre-measured and affordable was a blessing, until you read the ingredients and it is certainly not completely organic as the title implies. The additives left me completely disappointed.

Why ruin such a delicious corn with the above additives? I pop it as per the instructions and it looked and taste just like movie pop corn although a tad salty -The season package was too salty for my family taste buds-. I discarded the season and oil section of this package and just use the corn and it was delicious with nothing added and with my own seasoning of lemon, pepper and kosher/sea salt.

If you want to give it at try make sure you know the only organic item is the corn. Everything else take it as what they are additives. If they sell the corn alone (pre-package preferable), I would purchase it in a heartbeat.
